Golden Light Goodness | Helbling Family

I leave most sessions with a “permasmile” because I can’t wait to get home to sit down and go through the photos. This was one of those evenings where my patience was truly tested as the images were uploading.  Sunrise and sunset are my two favorite times to shoot because I live for that breathtaking sun flare! It just adds something magical to a shot! I have learned that spring is a tricky time of year to be out late with families because we get so many hours of sunlight during the day and we are pushing 9:00pm before we are wrapping up a session! This family was willing to take the risk for gorgeous photos, and I am so glad they were up for it because we got some beautiful photos and saw one of the most stunning sunsets I’ve ever seen in Boise.

The locations I scout out for my sessions usually involve a little hiking and there is no other way in my opinion! I want to find a unique spot that isn’t packed with other photographers or families. Let me tell you why…I want space for my families, specifically the kids, to run wild and be themselves! This evening was such a beautiful one. They twirled, tickled, ran, picked wildflowers (okay they are just really pretty weeds) for their mama, and enjoyed the sunlight as it sank behind the hills of Boise. Capturing it was a delight and I am so excited to share some of my favorite images with you. Thank you Helbling family for choosing me to freeze these moments in time for you to cherish.

My Spring calendar is booked up and I am planning for end of summer/fall sessions! I’ve created a list of families wanting portraits as soon as I’m feeling ready to go, after our baby arrives! If you’d like to join that list, contact me here and we’ll get you added today!
